I was born in Chicago and grew up in Cicero,
IL. I attended my first Cubs game on July 1st, 1982. It was a
5-2 loss to the Pirates. My rabid St. Louis Cardinals fan
father took me. My father spent some time in the Cardinals
minor leagues in the ’60’s, playing for Cedar Rapids and the
Arkansas Travelers. The experience was my first taste of Cubs
ridicule. Of course the Cardinals won the Series that year. I
attended DePaul University for my undergraduate and graduate
work. I would, on occasion, skip class to hop on the “L” and
head down to Wrigley for a day game. I married a rabid Cubs
fan. My wife Tina and My son Joshua are the loves of my life.
My wife actually got to go to Games 6 and 7 of the 2003 NLCS.
I joined her for Game 7. This is my first attempt at a blog.
I have a lot of opinions, so it should be fun. Being a
teacher, I have the summers off. This will allow a lot of
time to share some of those opinions.
